iOS 17.2.1 Brings Major Issues to the iPhone As Update Breaks Cellular
Connectivity, Overheating, More
With the latest version of iOS 17.2.1, Apple fixed several
significant iPhone bugs. An important power drain problem that affected iPhone
users for some time was resolved with the update. Some customers still have
battery problems, even though the update is said to have addressed them. Also,
the most recent iOS 17.2.1 update interfered with customers' ability to connect
to their wireless network providers, breaking the iPhone's cellular connection.
Apple has not yet released a patch for the problem, which has been present on several
iPhone models.
On certain iPhone models, Apple's most recent iOS 17.2.1 is
disrupting cellular connection, making it impossible for customers to connect
to their network providers.
iOS 17.2.1 was published by Apple, and the release notes
said that the upgrade included "important bug fixes." The identical
update's release notes in China and Japan, however, said that it
"addresses an issue that can cause the battery to drain faster."
Given that the build number of the update is the same, we assumed that iOS
17.2.1 had resolved battery problems worldwide. It seems, however, that this
may not be the case. Furthermore, a bug that prevents the iPhone from
connecting to cellular network providers is reportedly present in iOS 17.2.1,
which eventually breaks the connection.
The problem was brought to Apple's Support Community
Discussions (via BGR), where it was noted that the iPhone's cellular connection
problems started to appear after upgrading to iOS 17.2.1. "After updating
my iPhone to iOS 17.2.1 last night, I can no longer connect to my network
provider," a user stated. Resets have been tried, but it still doesn't
work! Very annoying. After years of trusting Apple and the iPhone, I'm unsure
anymore."
You may attempt to reset your network settings from the
Settings app if, after upgrading to iOS 17.2.1, you still have problems with your
cellular connection. The article also mentions that there are heat problems
with the iPhone 15 models. With iOS 17.0.3, Apple addressed overheating issues
with the iPhone 15 Pro models. Nearly three months after its first release, iOS
17 still has a tonne of flaws that Apple is striving to solve. For a time, Apple
even put off developing the iOS 18 upgrade for next year to patch previous
versions. It seems like the company's next iOS 17.3 update—which is already in
the beta phase—will address concerns with iOS 17.2.1.
IOS 17.3 may be released in January, bringing new features
along with several substantial speed and bug improvements. It is unknown what
is causing the cellular connection problems with iOS 17.2.1 since Apple has not
recognized the problem. For the time being, you may refer to our comprehensive
tutorial on how to resolve network problems on iOS 17. Stay tuned for further
information as Apple plans to begin beta releases for iOS 17.3 after the
holidays.
